The Camp Fire Girls organization began in 1912, or 1910, depending on which information you read. The official history of the Camp Fire Girls is interesting to read but does not explain the change in the start date. It seems that rather than go by the date the program was launched (1912), they instead go back to 1910 when the pre-Camp Fire Girls group " Pioneer Girls of America" was started.
