Girls Clubs of America Camp pennant

Girls Inc. - as the Girls Clubs of America group is now known, traces its history back to 1864 when a group of mothers organized local girls into a club. However, the title Girls Clubs of America did not take shape until 1945.

 

Official Start: May 18. 1945, when 19 Girls Clubs combined.

1952 - Started a Young Homemaker of the Year Award Program.

Name changed to Girls Inc.: 1990 and continues today.

Program DID NOT merge with Boys Clubs of America
