Atlas Girls Club

From mid-1930's to mid-1950's

Alas, the Atlas Girls Club was not what we think of these days as a "girls club" in the sense that non-adults are the membership. The Atlas Girls Club was a company club for women who worked at the Atlas Powder Company of Wilmington, DE. The male version was called the Atlas Globe Club.

Both of these clubs seemed to work as social clubs, as dances were frequently organized. It may be that members were single, but I haven't verified that. The Atlas Girls Club also did fund raisers for charity as well as outings to local areas.
